If Invisalign is determined to be a good fit, the next exciting phase begins: creating your personalized treatment plan. This detailed plan dictates the series of custom-made aligners you’ll wear throughout your treatment. Each aligner is designed to gently and gradually shift your teeth into their optimal positions.

Once your personalized treatment plan is finalized and approved, your custom Invisalign aligners will be manufactured. When they’re ready, you’ll return to our office for your first set of aligners. You’ll typically wear each set of aligners for 1-2 weeks before moving on to the next set in your series. It’s important to wear your aligners for 20-22 hours a day, only removing them to eat, drink (anything other than water), brush, and floss.

These visits are typically shorter and less frequent than with traditional braces. Once you’ve worn all your aligners as prescribed, congratulations – you’ve achieved your straighter smile! The final step is retention. To maintain your beautiful new alignment, we’ll discuss the importance of retainers. This usually involves wearing a clear, custom-made retainer (Vivera retainers are often recommended) to prevent your teeth from shifting back to their original positions.
